Half Scale Anniversary Party - March 23, 2003 - Theme Project - Potting
Shed
My Half Scale Miniatures
internet group held their 4th Anniversary Party
on Sunday. Many of us had made 67 'tote bag favors'. These favors
were combined by one of the moderators and sent back out to us. We
waited until the party day to open the jam-packed box of fabulous items.
Many of us had built the theme related Potting Shed and after opening
the fabulous tote bags, I found many of the items applicable to the
potting shed. I could not include ALL of them in the potting shed.
The other items will find special homes in many of my other projects.
There are also items included from other swaps I have participated
in.
We had a online party chat room that lasted for 12 hours. We had participants
from throughout the US and Canada, England, Germany, New Zealand and
probably other countries that I'm not aware of). We played games (some
with prizes), the moderators announced the prize winners throughout the event.
All in all I think we all have a FABULOUS TIME!
There were also 33 Door Prizes that we could buy tickets for, as well as
participating in the GRAND PRIZE Drawing! Amazingly enough, I won Prize
#30 - a set of 3 half scale tile items from Beth of In a Miniature Manor and then even
MORE amazing, I won the GRAND PRIZE - a $100 gift certificate from Kathy
at Half Scale Miniatures.
If you are remotely interested in miniatures and most especially half scale
minis, check out the stores and the HS Group, it's the greatest.
Here then is MY version of the Anniversary Party Potting Shed!! <WooHoo
- a finished project... although I'll be adding my gardener soon>
Front of Potting Shed. See if you can find
Flora Pots and the small Frog with his tiny home.
Side view of the front and side of the potting shed. The 'painted'
wheel barrow was one of the accessory kits provided by the moderators.
Left side view. The push mower was a project accessory and a DIY project.
Interior of Potting Shed. See the rustic chair, the bulb packages,
the thermometer, the pesticides, the wall picture, a seed tray with packet
of seeds and the desk which was a kit by one of the moderators (Thanks Gayle
for making it for me, I'll be staining/painting it soon when I decide what
I want)..
Another interior shot. The sink (a project accessory) is on the left wall,
but hidden and the potting shelf was another moderator project kit.
Arial Overview. Please note the maple table, the fairy birdbath (a
project accessory), a fancy orchid, a lunch basket, a flower press, a McDonalds
lunch sack and a pot of yellow flowers. Also on the small yellow bench from
left to right a 1/2" orchid by Mary
Kinloch, a small flowering tree and the tiniest bonsai I've ever seen.
The other side. The greenman face wallhanging, the flowering trellis,
and the pots with a very tiny snail.
Another side view.
The planting bed. - the fairy birdbath, a double birdhouse, Jonesy's 'lawn
butt' and the small flower planting in front of the birdbath.
Another view of the two small tables with their goodies.
