Announcing My Newest Book – Bucca Comes Home!

I’m so excited, I want to announce my 1st children’s eBook, Bucca Comes Home, about our so-loved Newfie Bucca. This has been in the works for a while, but I finally found an incredibly talented artist (and friend), Brenda Salomé Salamone, to bring the art to life. Now available on Amazon for Kindle, I hope to get a print version ready soon. I just wanted to share.  If you are kind enough to get a copy of the book, please write an Amazon review if you enjoyed the book, I would appreciate your input.

Your Life Needs to be Fun!

This is my number one mantra on how to make your life better, although I don’t always succeed. Unfortunately, sometimes we do HAVE to do the unfun things (work, study, clean house, and yes there are lots more), I try really hard to be positive and enjoy life; most of the time it works. However, if you find you are doing something that you really hate, try to find some kind of escape.

House cleaning? – Yuck, but this does have to be done! Although I don’t ever worry about the house being spotless, a bit of grime on a window or a dustbunny or four under the couch will certainly wait until tomorrow.

I found that if I put on some music or an audio book, it at least fills my mind. If your husband or children are working or studying, or even sleeping, put your headphones on and listen in peace. Can your partner/SO (significant other), roommate, or kids take on a share of the cleaning? Maybe they could take over some of the parts you really hate and you do a part that they really dislike?

Work? – Unfortunately, work is something that responsible adults do, in order to provide for themselves and their families. If you have a job you hate, I totally understand, I’ve been there. However, don’t just quit because you hate your boss or you had a bad day. In today’s economy, it’s always easier to find a job, if you have a job. It may take some time, but it will be worth it. Other ideas are going to school while you work to get the education you need to do something else that you love. Or, if you want to start a business of your own: ‘moonlight’ and start your sewing, embroidery, consulting, catering, or whatever business in the evenings while still maintaining your ‘regular’ day job, until you get your dream business off the ground. It will definitely pay benefits in the long run if you aren’t having to struggle financially.

Study? – Still in school? Or,are you thinking about going back to get more education? Yes, it’s a drag sometimes, especially the core curriculum courses that everyone has to take. However, if you can get through them, maybe with the help of a tutor, a study partner or group, you’ll be able to study the things you’re more interested in and get your degree so you can find the job you do want.

Other unfun things? – Do what has to be done, even if it’s not pleasant. We’ve all been there; sickness, sadness, accidents, loss, and a million and one other things. These are all unfortunate things we have to deal with. We would love to just ‘make them go away’, however, they don’t. You just have to step up and try to find a way to get through them the best you can.

There is no one absolute miracle cure for the unfun things we have to do in life, but find the fun in what you’re doing, or find something else to do! I promise it will help!

Ellen Crane, author of 10 Steps to a Happier You, and the children’s book, Bucca Comes Home (A Newfoundland’s Tale), lives in her home state, the great state of Texas, with her Husband of “a little over 5 years”, and yes, that’s a joke.  The Cranes can often be found boating on a local lake during warm weather.

Ellen Crane has always enjoyed writing for numerous projects for magazines and newsletters.  After having ideas for books in her head for years, she’s now devoting time to writing and publishing.

A lifelong gardener, she particularly enjoys growing orchids, as well as reading, crochet, dollhouse miniatures and model trains.  Sadly, the 4pack of Newfoundland dogs have all crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but Ellen & Husband look forward to starting a new puppy pack soon.
