Tree Frog Time

  • Posted on March 25, 2011 at 5:00 am

Several years ago, Husband built me an awesome greenroom (part greenhouse/part sunroom).  He is totally incredible and can do virtually everything incredibly well, I’m always amazed!

Soon after my plants were moved in, I found a small green tree frog in the greenroom.  While I’m not sure if the little frog came in on a plant or sometime when the door was open.  I also wasn’t sure if it would be able to live in the greenroom.  However, the plants are watered regularly and I’m sure there are tiny bugs in the greenroom.

Over the months and now years, I see the tree frog from time to time and on several occasions I’ve seen 2 tree frogs. So while I’m not totally sure which generation of tree frog is currently in my greenroom (I’m told they live 2-4 years), I was thrilled to see a cute tree frog snoozing on a bare plumeria branch in the greenroom yesterday.

More Splendid Spring!

Here are more pics of the Spring Blossoms!  I love them!  Can you tell?

Dwarf Peach Tree

Dwarf Peach Tree

I have a very small (about 18″ tall) dwarf peach tree that was LOADED with blossoms yesterday, but when I went out to take the pics today, I found the blooms had been pushed off and the new brach buds had already started spreading out.  So I grabbed a quick pic for you.

Red and Gold Quince

We also have several Quince shrubs.  These are so beauiful with full red blossoms and golden yellow centers.  The flowers blossom before any leaves and they last quite a long time.  Just lovely even though the pics don’t do the flowers justice!

We really enjoy a huge flowering peach tree that is covered with dark pink flowers.  They are such a delight.  Maybe we’ll even get peaches this year!

What are you growing in your garden?  I’d love to see pics.

Have a great week – Hugs – Ellen

Splendid Spring!

I so love Spring with everything  blooming out and beautiful!

We have tons of forsythia and daffodils, but here’s a few flowers I wanted to share with you.  I’ll be doing more pics over the next few months as things bud and flower out.

We have Hyacinths and they are so beautiful!

We also have a couple of Bradford Pear Trees that are so lovely.  If you walk near them, you will hear the bees buzzing as they are gathering pollen for their hives.  There is a regular ‘rumble’ going on up in the trees.

I trie to get a pic of some of the bees, but for some reason it didn’t want to work, I’ll try again later.

Take care all.. Hugs… Ellen
