Little Newfie RuShou at age 5-1/2 months, is thoroughly enjoying his very first snow. Anytime any of the others goes outside, he’s right on their heels…. or pushing them aside to get out the door first.

For some odd reason he keeps burying his face in the snow, he may be eating mouthfuls of it.  He is definitely funny and he LOVES the snow.

Snow, Snow, Snow

Snow, Snow, Snow

Today he weighed 88 pounds and he’s almost as tall as any of the others. No he’s not fat or gaining weight too quickly, he’s just going to be a ‘big boy’. His mom, grandmom and grandad are all large newfs. He also has huge paws.

He and Bucca love playing together and Bucca is so wonderful with him.   Often he will flip onto his back and let RuShou pounce all over him with just an occasional pawswipe to keep the pup happy.

So RuShou is growing up so fast.  We’re beginning to see the signs of him about to lose his ‘puppycoat’ fur.  Although he will be about 2 or 3 years old before his actual ‘brains’ get here and he is grown.  He’s just such a sweetheart though and we can’t than Bill & Pat enough for trusting us with this guy.

Stay safe and warm.. what’s the weather like where you are?  Let us know.. Hugs – Ellen

While the guys were having a grand time playing outside in the snow, the girls took the snow more sedately.  Rebel and Corena seemed to enjoy going outside, they weren’t throwing themselves around in it like the boys.

Rebel did manage to get herself  coated with a bit of snow during one playtime, but she seemed to want to leave it to the boys after that.

Corena

Corena

Corena has always been our shy, quiet girl and she watched all the fun from a very safe distance…. the deck.

But overall from the length of time they’ve spent laying out in the snow, they have thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Hopefully the sun will come out soon, because it is very cold here… but for a few days, the Newfs are loving it.

Stay warm… Hugs.. Ellen

Our Bucca, is such a loving boy, gentle, loving and beautiful.  He will be 5 in just a couple of weeks.

He adores getting out and playing in the snow.  Let me show you.

The dogs have been so silly.  They want out in the snow and will stay out there for hours.  Often just laying out in the snow.

They come in absolutely coated with snow.  I start drying them off, but before I can get thru all of them, they are wanting to head back outside.  Right now they are sleeping on the floor around us, so I’ll take a break too.

Pics of the rest soon.

Stay well and warm.. Hugs – Ellen

This weekend we had the most wonderful snowstorm.  I’d like to share the pics with you.  Neither Husband, nor I like snow or cold weather, but once a year, it is undeniably beautiful.

First there was rain and then a ‘wintery mix’.   Then it started snowing and snowed all the rest of the day January 29, 2010.  It was lovely.

Saturday morning dawned gray and cloudy but the snow had stopped.  We ended up with  approximately 6″ of snow.  The dogs loved it and Husband & I loved snuggling up with each other.
