Norwegian Sky - November '10
We had an awesome time on our cruise and loved it all. The only thing that we think might have made it better would have been if you (all of you) had been along. I definitely think a group (family and/or friends) would make the cruise more fun. But, Husband and I usually say that about all the trips we go on. So, let’s all plan a trip soon!

On our last cruise day, we visited Great Stirrup Cay, a tiny private island owned by Norwegian Cruise Lines. It is really scenic. We boarded a tender from the ship to the island to make the 5 minute trip. The weather was gorgeous and the water was unbelievable colors of blue. We landed at a great sandy beach with tons of beach chairs set up waiting for us. There were also vendors, a bbq lunch with all the trimmings, a nice restroom setup and quite a few excursions to take part in. The excursions include Jet-skiing, sailing, water floats and toys, a large water slide and…. parasailing.
Now, for those of you who know me well, you will know that I have a fear of heights. But, Husband wanted to try it and I agreed to go along, so off we go. We were going to do a ‘tandem’ sail so we would be together.
We were to first group to take off and we boarded the boat of 2 great Bahamian guys with 2 women and their daughters who were (10 and 12?? maybe) and a single guy. It was awesome. The two girls went first and got harnessed in. They were taken to the back of the boat to the landing platform. You take off and land from the boat, no messy hanging out in the water. The moms were not going to parasail, but were taking pictures. The girls had a great time.
Then it was our turn. One of the moms was kind enough to agree to take pics with our camera, so here are a few. We were lifejacketed, harnassed and strapped in… so we were ready to go! Is it too late to change my mind?
Getting harnassed into the parasail
And.. away we go
Up, up and away!
In my beautiful balloon!
Amazingly enough, I survived!! We even got our feet and legs ‘dipped’ into the water on the way back in. Very fun, very free feeling… we had a great time.
That’s our cruise ship in the background. We spent the rest of the day relaxing on the beach. So we had a great time… gosh I’m still so pale! I’ll have to do something about that!
Take care… Hugs, Ellen

Going to the Atlantis Waterpark an Aquarium was awesome!! It was so beautiful and fun. Their aquarium is in underground tunnels as though you were in the ‘dig for Atlantis’. Here are a few friends we met.
The lighting was weird for the Jellyfish, but they were beautiful!
A gorgeous Fish
An underwater scene
A small sand ray
We have a lot of pictures, but I just wanted to share a few with you! Thanks for taking time to check them out!
Take care…. HUGS, Ellen

The 2nd day out, we docked in Nassau, Bahamas and Husband & I decided to do a bit of exploring. We went on an excursion to the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. We took a ferry over to the island, it was about 20 minute walk to the ferry and then a 20 minute ferry ride. Great fun!
Paradise Island, Bahamas
Paradise Island is a private island just off Nassau and is a home to millionaires and celebrities. Nicolas Cage owns a home there, but he didn’t invite us over…. I guess he wasn’t home. This is one of the gorgeous homes we saw on the tiny island.
Dock area, Paradise Island
This was a dock leading up to a private home that we couldn’t see from the ferry.
Shack used in James Bond 'Thunderball'
This shack was “blown up” in the James Bond thriller ‘Thunderball’ in the speedboat chase scene.
Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas
This is our first view of the Atlantis Resort, nicknamed “Vegas by the Sea’. The resort has gambling, 4star restaurants, a huge waterpark and aquariums. It was gorgeous. We were told the ‘sky bridge’ is actually a hotel suite that goes for $25k a night. WOW!
Hugs and have a great day!… Ellen
