Today, we visited Busan, South Korea and would be visiting a Buddhist Temple and attending a “Cultural Program”.

We were totally blown away by attending the Cultural Program, called “The Queen’s Banquet”.  It was truly, one of the most awesome events that we participated in.  The theatre, in the basement of a gorgeous hotel, was totally modern and the performance, a dance drama about an hour long with traditional Korean dance and music is in it’s 3rd season.  It was incredibly spectacular and is an international treasure.  I really can’t tell you how much we enjoyed it and how glad we were to have attended.

The above picture of a drummer is actually behind the stage screens and the screen became transparent at times and in various places and levels to allow you to see dancers and musicians performing behind.

Japan Cruise – Diamond Princess – Day 2&3 – August 29-30, 2017

Day 2 – An “At Sea” day, wonderful and relaxing!!

While sunbathing during the day we watched “Boss Baby” movie which was so fun.

We ate, and ate, and ate during the day, various foods, pizzas, crepes, curry’s, etc.

That night was a “Bravo Show” with the entertainment cast preforming a variety of show tunes.  Wonderful!

Finally, we ended the awesome day watching “Dr. Strange” “Movie Under the Stars”.

Day 3 – The cruise ship stopped at Aburatsu for the day, but we chose to stay on board and rest.

At the breakfast buffet I found bread pudding with a lovely rum sauce.  What a great way to start the day!

More sunbathing, then I had a seabass burger while Husband had a cheeseburger.

We sunned and relaxed, and then it was time for my spa day.  I enjoyed a lime/ginger salt scrub, with a deep tissue massage from a lovely Thai masseuse.

Dinner was yum, but for the life of me I can’t remember what we had… too much good food for sure!

Then the evening’s event was our “Movie Under the Stars” was “Guardians of the Galaxy 2”.  We’d seen it before, but we’re getting really addicted to this lush movie event.

Have a good one….

Up and out early, we joined our tour group for the last part of our tour before being taken to our cruise ship.  The streets are amazing, especially with the number of people walking, biking, etc., everywhere we looked.

We headed to Asakusa to the Senso-ji Temple and a bit of shopping afterwards.

Then our bus headed to Yokahama port to board our cruise ship, Diamond Princess.  For more info on the Diamond Princess and the other Princess cruise ships, check them out here.

We boarded the ship, got into our cabin, found some lunch, enjoyed the obligatory lifeboat drill, explored the various decks and rested a bit before dinner.

We found our assigned table for dinner and husband enjoyed Prime Rib, while I had a delicious seafood stew.  The highlight for me of course was the wonderful creme brulee (always a favorite).  This version of creme brulee was vanilla bean with a sugar cane crust and lemon madellaines.  So delicious!

Our table for 2 was in a lovely little alcove along with 2 other tables for 2.  We made friends with our table neighbors, one Japanese couple and 2 awesome ladies from Houston who had needed to leave Houston early to get ahead of Hurricane Harvey to make the cruise.

One of the most fabulous highlights of the cruise was getting to enjoy “Movie Under the Stars”.  The Lido Pool Deck was transformed each night into a movie theater, with a large screen and pillows, pads and blankets spread out on the deck chairs.  First night we enjoyed Going in Style with Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin.  I can’t tell you how decadent I felt watching a movie, getting drinks from the bar and eating fresh pizza on the cruise ship out under the stars.  WOW… what an experience, and the trip was just starting!
